About Us

Welcome to the Wood n Trail Family and thank you for taking the time to look through our website.

Our company “Codet” has been in business since 1946 manufacturing work wear apparel and wool hunting apparel.

Around 1984, the “Codet Corporation” based in Canada branched into the United States and started the “Codet Newport Corporation” division in downtown Newport Vermont.

The “Codet Newport Corporation” started manufacturing their signature “Codet” flannel shirts and chamois shirts over in Colebrook New Hampshire. As the Codet flannel shirt started booming throughout the US market customers also demanded “Codet Canadian Wool” garments for hunting. The wool explosion hit the hunting market and Codet Newport then distributed their wool hunting apparel from their factory in Coaticook Quebec to retail stores throughout the US market nationwide. While still producing apparel for the Canadian market, Codet had saturated the US hunting market with their wool products.

Around 2004 some of our retail dealers had asked Codet to produce camouflage apparel for some of their stores. Codet thought that the dealers idea was great but didn’t have a brand name for the camouflage apparel. After weeks of searching for a name the slug name “Wood ‘n Trail” happened to show up from one of the old private label programs Codet used for manufacturing their chamois shirts.

The phrases “choose your own destiny” and “Walk down your own path” were the concepts behind the “Wood ‘n Trail” philosophy as a brand name. Our name “Wood ‘n Trail” stands for making your own way as a hunter through any path that you choose. We also felt that our “Wood ‘n Trail” philosophy reflected everyday people and their freedom of choice.

Some folks call us Woods n Trails, Wooded Trail, or sometimes “WNT” But however you say it, spell it, or pronounce it “Wood ‘n Trail” stands for high quality hunting apparel, geat camouflage patterns, and a strong family of hunting accessories.

Walk the trail of the outdoor lifestyle in any direction you choose.
